    Recently, new subscriber Suzanne wrote to ask about her problem installing her printer to her new notebook computer:

    I just bought a new Notebook Computer ,.Gateway with Windows Vista Home Premium .I can not seem to get my printer networked.

    Using a Lexmark X6570 All In One Printer, its new also. .I had my Compaq Notebook networked with it and it was easy..

    When I click Add Printer it says I do not have permission to do this!? I am the only one using the computer and the home network, always have been. I am set as Administrator . I use Linksys Router .

    I’ve written about the PDF creation program Click2PDF a number of times. However, I just realized that I’ve never shown it in action.

    I use Click2PDF to let me easily “print” PDF files to document web pages. I can log into an investment account and print multiple pages, even print multiple times, change the order of the print jobs in the file and then finally create the file.

    This is much more efficient for me than even the “print once, create one file” approach of Adobe Acrobat or any of the other cheap (or free) PDF creation programs.

    First, let’s take a look at a web page. I’m using Firefox, my normal web browser ( Get Firefox with Google Toolbar). The web site is Spice Barn, my favorite source for spices on the web. I’ll use it during this example (plus, you’ll see some of the things that I like to buy there!).

    Printing Problems with the Windows XP Print Spooler Service

    Subscriber Jerry Munn wrote this week to ask about a problem where he couldn’t print from his Windows XP computer.

    Also, can you tell me where to go to restar my printer spooler. We had several power failures this weekend and I no longer have any printer info on one of my computers. When I try to reinstall the printer drivers I get a message that I need to restart my printer spooler. I cannot do this. Help if you can.

    The Windows Print Spooler is a Windows XP “Service”. You can start it via the following steps:

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. click on Run
    3. enter “services.msc” without the quotes and press Enter
