re: disconnecting from the internet
Using Vista, I rt click on my network icon, choose Network and Sharing Center, choose Manage Network Connections, rt click and choose “Disable”. This requires several clicks but does disconnect me from the internet. I minimize those choices and later, maximize the “Manage Network Connections”, rt click and “enable” to surf again.
