A note to Teri and Terry.
To speed up a slow dialup connection, see if you can borrow an external modem and see if there is any improvement, a bit of work involved but if it works it will be well worth the effort.
Apparently an internal modem is a software modem where as an external one is hardware.
On a slow connection you will not want well meaning friends sending large files via broadband. There is a program called Mailwasher by Firetrust that lets you sort your mail while at your server, so you can delete files too big for you, there used to be a free version on web.
