How does one save a *single* article from one of your pages, e.g., today’s HOWTO? I’m used to selecting a specific item from my other newsletters, etc., then using Ctrl C followed by Ctrl V in MS Word – Voila!
This process works for me with all other web pages, without exception. If I try the process with TCP article, I get the whole page, warts and all.
Any suggestions, please, would be appreciated.

    Hi, Terry,
I have a question that is probably a dumb one,but we all know that is the kind I have. I was/am so glad to have the article (which I have copied) on writing files to a CD. Why, when I copied it, the illustra-
tions were not copied? Is there any way one can copy illustrations in this and other articles?
    Pat.
PS: Thanks for your newsletters. I have been printing them and saving.

    Michael,
I’m not sure what “warts” are, so I can’t help you there — and if you mean my advertising, no you won’t get any help from me.

You didn’t mention which web browser you’re using. I suspect that you’re using the new IE7 and that this is a new “feature” of it.

However, copying and pasting from IE7 and Firefox 2.0 into Word 2003 worked fine for me.

Probably some of your settings in one or the other.

    Pat,
Same response as in #3 to Michael — it worked fine for me, images and all.

  5. jack alexander says:

i tried firefox 2 beta and the final release candidate…

both fell apart, losing buttons, extensions, etc.

my resolution to the problem was to uninstall firefox 2 both times and revert to 1.5.0.7 the first time and finally to 1.5.0.8…

i am satisfied with the current version of 1.5 and have serious doubts that i will try 2.0 again.

  6. terry says:

    Jack,
Don’t judge the finished version by the betas and release candidates.

There are worlds of differences, especially when your complaint is about bugs.

For that matter, I find Firefox 2.0 far superior to the final IE7 release — I’ve read lots of comments by dissatisfied users who reverted to IE6.

Personally, I don’t like IE7, but haven’t had any problems with it — other that it screwing up some of my web sites. For a program that was going to be updated to more HTML and CSS compliant, when it’s not, it’s WAY OFF.
