I”m not much of a fan of the Impressionism school of art. I enjoy photography, photographs, photography sites, landscapes and statuary for artistic expression. Since my background is engineering, accounting, insurance and computers, real images (of things, but not necessarily real things) are much more meaningful to me than weird ones from someone”s head.

This brings me to an interesting juxtaposition.

My free Terry”s Computer Tips newsletter uses a free, open-source newsletter program called Dada Mail. The main author of Dada Mail is Justin Simoni, who is also an artist, living and working in Denver. He uses a number of different media — digital, oil, pins, flattened origami paintings and more — for his works. This is pretty strange for a computer guy, as Impressionism and computer programming seem to be at opposite ends of the organization spectrum.

Justin has three shows in Denver during July, including one today July 8th. He also has a number of his works available for viewing on his website at JustinSimoni.com.
